"They are the moms you wish lived next door because they are funny, smart, and always supportive. Their program Peace, Love, Kids, & Dogs is packed with practical information to help parents love living with kids and dogs. Because they know how busy families are, the program is broken down into short segments that are realistic, easy–to–implement, and just plain fun. Kids are going to love the special games and videos designed just for them. I highly recommend Peace, Love, Kids, & Dogs."

"Highly professional, polished, well-crafted and well thought through, PLKD offers information provided in quickly grasped segments. It is a fun, upbeat and simple program aimed at families with kids and a dog (or two). Snappy sound bites blend with practical tips in a program best considered as an adjunct to more complete information available through books, DVDs and in-person training classes. Cheerful presenters and clear graphics provide a slick, easily navigable format easy to understand and use.

The short bursts of video and simple printouts will fit right in with a lot of what is offered on the ‘net and TV. Busy parents (are there any other kind?) can grab a couple of ideas and go. The overarching themes of being kind, being your dog's best friend & protector, and respecting the dog are excellent ones.

Affordable, effective and fun — a great combo for any dog loving family. I hope it will be a smashing success for the sake of dogs & families everywhere.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! This would be a great gift for any family acquiring a puppy or dog."

"I've been training families for over 20 years and this is the perfect tool for those families who always say ‘Can you just come home with me and train my dog?’ Now you can have a trainer right in your living room helping you with all those problems that come up in day to day living with your best friend. The videos are fun and easy to watch and they break everything down into bite size chunks. The training methods are based on positive reinforcement and kids will love the special section just for them too! Give this program a try. You won’t regret it!"

"Unique and possibly the only one of it's kind, a program that trains not only the dog but the whole family!

The program uses positive reinforcement training techniques and relies heavily on supervision and management. Unlike many programs ‘The Family Dog’ spells out exactly what supervision means in all aspects of life with children and dogs; from supervision during house training to playing with the children. This is important in this day and age of hectic family schedules and unrealistic expectations that dogs and kids should ‘know’ how to behave and dogs should tolerate all interactions from children.

I would recommend the program for anyone, single, married, with or without kids. It is an excellent program for people that do not have access to positive reinforcement training. It is also a great supplement for people that are already taking their dogs to ‘traditional’ group classes. While the ‘traditional’ group classes tend to teach obedience, they do not necessarily teach manners and the skills a dog needs to live with a family, nor do they necessarily teach families how to live with a dog.

Many people are too busy to have a dog, yet Schuurmans and Hatley break down what ‘to do’ and how to do it in small manageable ‘bites.’ The program is easy to understand and implement. It was refreshing to see the focus on body language and being respectful of the dog to keep everyone safe.

It is wonderful to have positive program available to families that live in areas that are devoid of trainers using appropriate techniques."
